The T-90MS is a tier 9 Main Battle Tank originating from Russia, and is sold by Marat Shishkin. It can be unlocked with a tier 9 Unlock Token, and unlocks a tier 10 Unlock Token, which can be used on the PL-01, T-15 HIFV, T-14 Armata, and FV4034 Challenger 2 ATDU.

  • Heavy armor: this vehicle's armor bounces more shots and takes more hits
  • High caliber: the high caliber weaponry deals an increased damage

Player Recommendations[]

With excellent mobility and a fantastic gun, the T-90MS is a low-profile brawler that can get up close and personal, punching well above its weight. The T-90MS should not be kept at long range though, due to its poor side and lower plate armor allowing it to be damaged. Instead this tank dominates in close range combat like one-on-one battles.

Pros and Cons[]

  • Excellent mobility
  • Good firepower
  • Low profile
  • Strong turret armor

  • Weak side armor
  • Very visible front weakspot
  • Bad Gun Depression

Upgrade Suggestions[]

With one of the smallest health pools at T9 among the MBTs, the T-90MS relies on its firepower and mobility to survive. Upgrading to the V-99 Diesel Engine will offer a good improvement to acceleration and hull traverse, making relocation and maneuvering easier. Firepower upgrades, such as ammunition and the Improved Autoloader, are very useful in a brawl, and should be researched fairly early.

Retrofit Suggestions[]

  • Advanced Muzzle Reference System
  • Augmented Optics
  • Improved Gun Breech
  • Improved Pioneer Tool Kit

Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[]

  • Commander - Juan Carlos, to improve the aim speed and crew stats.
  • Driver - Spin to Win, Smooth Ride
  • Gunner - Do The Twist, Sharpshooter

The T-90MS retains the weaker lower glacis of the series, though with many improvements. An armored plate covers the lower glacis, and the vehicle comes equipped with improved non-explosive reactive armor inserts in its upgraded turret, a proprietary composite in the upper glacis, and heavy all-around plating, making it highly resistant to autocannons.

The T-90MS (named "Tagil" after the city UVZ is known for, Nizhny Tagil) Main Battle Tank is a Russian export version of a heavily upgraded T-90A MBT, first shown to the public during the Russian Expo arms expedition in September 2011. Contrary to popular belief, the Tagil actually appeared before the T-90M Proryv-3 Russian MBT and is not derived from it, even though export versions typically only appear after the launch of a Russian domestic one due to the need of extra promotion provided by the adoption by the Russian army. It is currently offered for export by Uralvagonzavod and is one of the best and most sophisticated MBTs on the market, featuring a wide variety of improvements over its predecessor.

It is heavier than the previous export variant of the T-90. This is partially due to a new turret that offers improved resistance to all kinds of shells. It is also well protected by the new Relikt ERA system. Although this export variant does not feature the Shtora APS in the configuration offered by UVZ, this element can also be added, should the customer wish.

In order to keep the mobility of the vehicle in line with the previous versions, the increased weight is compensated by the new V-92S2F 1130hp diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission, capable of making the tank go as fast as 60 km/h. The vehicle is armed with a powerful 125mm 2A45M-5 smoothbore gun (along with a new loading mechanism and a new Kalina FCS) capable of firing various kinds of ammunition, including the Refleks and Invar guided missiles.

The Tagil has in recent years been put through its paces at several of the largest military expos and according to some reports, India ordered a large batch of this variant for its elite armor units. The performance of the T-90MS is certainly impressive, even when compared to the most modern western vehicles (surpassing them in certain aspects) and several nations have shown interest in this newest export variant of the T-90, including India, Egypt and Kuwait.
