The Sabra Mk. 2 is a tier 7 premium MBT from Israel. Based on the M60A3, the Sabra Mk. 2 is an upgrade package that includes reinforced armor, a more powerful engine with increased mobility, and a 120mm gun.  Although designed by Israel, the design was also purchased by Turkey to upgrade their aging fleet of M60 tanks. About 170 vehicles were produced between 2007 and 2009.

The Sabra Mk. 2 was originally sold with the Marder 2 during the Black Friday sale on the Armored Warfare website in November 2017 and comes with a permanent special camo scheme. As of January 2018, the tank is permanently available in the Web Shop for cash or in game gold.

Player Recommendations

The Sabra Mk. 2 has a similar play style to the M60-2000, although it trades DPM for higher penetration and greater accuracy. It has a tough turret and a rather weak hull, so playing this tank hull down is the key to success.  If the tank cannot be placed in a hull down position, it should hang back in the second line and provide supporting fire, while minimizing exposure. The Sabra also has a base view range of 420 m, so increasing this with retrofits will allow for better target spotting.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Premium: credit and global reputation earner
  • Tough turret armor allows hull down tanking, and very high penetration for its tier helps it tackle hardened foes.
  • Compared to the M60-2000 it has better view range, acceleration, accuracy, penetration, and ERA.
  • Permanently available for gold in the web shop and comes with a level 5 crew.

Cons

  • Weak hull armor
  • Compared to the M60-2000 it has worse camo, slower traverse speeds, worse DPM, and lower top speed.

History

Class: Main Battle Tank
Developed: 2000-2002
Service: 2007+
Vehicles Built: 170
Operators: Turkey

The Patton series of universal tanks is as important to the United States military as the T-54/55 series was to the Soviets and formed the backbone of the American armored forces from the late 1940s practically until the 1990s. Having evolved from the M26 Pershing Medium Tank, the Patton family was named after George S. Patton, one of the most famous U.S. generals to have ever lived. Right until their final versions, the Patton series tanks were protected only by their steel armor and used 90mm and 105mm rifled guns.

The Sabra Mk.2 is an extensively upgraded M60A3, developed by the Israelis for Turkey, where it is used to this day under the name M60T. The tank was based on the Magach 7 design and received a massive additional set of extra armor, a 120mm smoothbore cannon and several more upgrades. 170 of these vehicles were delivered between 2007 and 2010. The M60T was recently used in the Turkish intervention in Syria.
