The Leopard 2A5 is a tier 8 Main Battle Tank originating from Germany, and is sold by Sophie Wölfli. It can be unlocked from the Leopard 2, and unlocks a tier 9 Unlock Token, which can be used on the CRAB, B1 Draco, B1 Centauro 120, Leopard 2A6, or M1A2 Abrams SEP v.3. It also leads to the Leopard 2A4 Evolution, a side branch of the main Leopard Variant tree.

Features[edit | edit source]
- Heavy armor : this vehicle's armor bounces more shots and takes more hits
- High caliber: the high caliber weaponry deals an increased damage.
Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]
The general playstyle of the Leopard 2A5 is like that of its successors. With medium armor, good mobility, and an accurate gun, the 2A5 is a mid-range sniper and flanker. While not as heavily armored as some of the other T8 MBTs, it is still capable of fighting up close if needed. However, hulling down behind terrain and only keeping the turret exposed is necessary to prevent the enemy from penetrating its mediocre frontal armor.
Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]
Pros[edit | edit source]
- Excellent gun depression
- Accurate
- Excellent mobility for an MBT
Cons[edit | edit source]
- Weak spot under the gun mantlet
- Lower frontal glacis is a large weak spot for all other heavy cannons at its tier and higher
- Long reload time and low damage output
Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]
As the vehicle is defined by its firepower, early research should focus on this. Upgrading to the Improved Gun Stabilizer and Improved Gun Breech, along better ammunition, will increase damage output against targets, while minimizing exposure to return fire. Another important early upgrade would be the D570P0 Tracks, to further improve mobility.
Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Advanced Muzzle Reference System
- Improved Telescopic Lens
- Improved Gun Breech
- Improved Pioneer Tool Kit
Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Commander: Juan Carlos, to improve the aim speed and crew stats
- Driver: Spin to Win, Off-Road Driving
- Gunner: Sharpshooter, Do the Twist
- Loader: Rapid Fire, Explosive Shells/Preparation

Continued improvements to the Leopard 2 culminated in the major overhaul of the 2A5 adding composites to the front and sides of the turret, the driver's side of the hull, and the glacis. The overall vehicle was improved from the ground up while retaining both firepower and mobility, making it a well-rounded battlefield threat. |

History[edit | edit source]
Class: Main Battle Tank
Developed: 1989-1993
Service: 1993+
Vehicles Built: 746
Operators: Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark
The Leopard 2A5 variant is a Leopard 2A4, upgraded with a new type of spaced armor as well as with some other partial improvements while retaining its 120mm L/44 smoothbore gun. While not as widely exported as the older Leopard 2 models, it was accepted in service in several European countries. It's worth noting that the vehicle was originally supposed to be even better armored, but this configuration was rejected by the Germans as too costly. It was, however, adopted by Sweden, which is why the Swedish version of the Leopard 2 MBT called Strv 122 is better armored than its German counterpart.
