The Harimau (Indonesian for "Tiger") is a tier 8 Light Tank originating from Indonesia/Turkey. It is sold by Francine De Laroche. It can be unlocked from the Type16 MCV TD, and leads to AFVs: the AS21 Redback, and the K153-C Raybolt. It contributes to Francine De Laroche(Asian Vehicles) Achievements.

  • Stealthy: motion does not reduce camouflage factor.
  • Advanced Hydraulic Suspension: adjusts to increase gun depression in all directions.
  • Ready Rack: allows you to fire several rounds rapidly, and reloads automatically.
  • HEP Rounds: can penetrate armor at large hit angles.

Player Recommendations[]

The Harimau is able to deliver devastating burst damage to unsuspecting enemies, supporting MBTs in a push or as a rapid-fire sniper from longer ranges. The auto-filling ready rack means you almost always have a shot loaded, for when a target of opportunity comes into view. Fully upgraded, the ready rack can be dumped for around 2000 damage in under 5 seconds, without needing to fit the Rapid Fire Active Ability.

Its main protection is concealment and surprise, however its frontal turret armor gives good protection against auto-cannon fire. Its tilting suspension, increases gun depression all round; and while this can be locked (turned off), there seems to be no real reason to.

The only thing it has resembling a drawback: sluggish acceleration especially when stock, can be cancelled-out by retrofits, crew skills, and the Top Speed Active Ability.

Think of it as the oriental cousin of the Stingray 1 & 2.

Pros and Cons[]

  • Superb burst damage/rate of fire, when fully upgraded
  • Excellent gun-depression all round (tilting suspension system)
  • Fast ready rack reload

  • Lightly armored
  • Sluggish initial acceleration

Upgrade Suggestions[]

Initially concentrate on getting the Improved Torsion Bars, leading to the upgraded Engine, to improve the Harimau's sluggish performance, and extra smoke grenades for some early extra protection.

The goal is then to reach the final gun-loading upgrade as soon as possible, where you can choose between: improving the ready rack capacity from 4 to 6 rounds, or a massively improved RoF with the Improved Load Conveyor. This increases burst rate of fire by a whopping 50%, and is the defining feature of the vehicle, especially for PvP or Glops.

Active Ability Options[]

  • Rapid Fire (+20% rate of fire, worse accuracy)
  • Top Speed (+200% Acceleration, extra mobility, less camouflage)

Active Ability can boost either the RoF further, at the cost of accuracy; or boost acceleration and maneuverability at the cost of camo. Both of which are very useful and the choice down to player preference.

Retrofit suggestions[]

  • Improved Gun Breech
  • Improved Filter System
  • Electro-Optical Absorbing Paint

Commander and crew skill suggestions[]

  • Commander: Sabrina Washington, or similar: for improvements to camo rating, view range, and accuracy
  • Driver: Smooth Ride, Off-Road Driving
  • Gunner: Quick Draw, Sharpshooter
