Features[edit | edit source]
- High spot and rof: had high spotting ranges and rate of fire.
- Missile weapons only: this vehicle only has missile weaponry.
- Waterproof: this vehicle can remain longer under water.
Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]
Featuring a potent two shot ATGM launcher, but mediocre mobility, the Swingfire is a long-range sniper capable of devastating enemy tanks and must quickly relocate after it fires its salvo. But with no effective armor and a flight path that does not allow the Swingfire to shoot at close range targets, it relies heavily on outranging and avoiding incoming fire. Effectively defenseless at close range.
Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]
Pros[edit | edit source]
- Excellent camouflage rating
- Great spotting capabilities
- Devastating ATGM salvo
- Able to fire and guide missiles from behind cover
Cons[edit | edit source]
- Non-existent armor
- Only fires ATGMs
- Long reload time
- Missiles fire upwards, making the Swingfire useless in point-blank range
- Fixed pod (turret)
Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]
With a reliance on firepower and mobility, upgrading to the Swingfire SWIG ATGM and K60 Multi-fuel Engine should be an early priority, to capitalize on the strengths of the vehicle.
Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Advanced Muzzle Reference System
- Augmented Optics
- Improved Gun Breech
- Improved Pioneer Tool Kit
Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Commander: Rashid Al-Atassi, to improve ATGM reload time, view range, and camo rating
- Driver: Spin to Win, Off-Road Driving
- Gunner: Sharpshooter, Do the Twist
- Loader: Rapid Fire, Explosive Shells/Preparation

History[edit | edit source]
Class: Anti-Tank Missile Carrier
Developed: 1970s
Service: 1970s-1986
Vehicles Built: N/A
Operators: United Kingdom
This British-designed armored fighting vehicle was created as a variant of the FV432 chassis, armed with Swingfire anti-tank guided missiles. A notable feature for this vehicle is that the launchers can be reloaded from inside the vehicle, allowing the crew to remain protected in combat. An interesting feature of this vehicle was that it could be fired remotely by a crewmember located up to 100 meters away from the vehicle, allowing it to stay completely hidden while firing. The FV438 entered service in the 1970s with the British Infantry and Royal Armoured Corp, and eventually transitioned to the Royal Artillery in the 1980s. The vehicle has never seen combat and was phased out in 1986.
