The EBRC Jaguar is a special premium Tier 10 Armored Fighting Vehicle under Francine De Laroche's dealership.

History[ | ]

EBRC Jaguar[ | ]

Class: Reconnaissance Vehicle
Developed: 2014-2020
Service: 2022+
Vehicles Built: 20-30 (150 ordered)
Operators: France

The EBRC Jaguar recon and fire support vehicle came from a French program called Scorpion. The Scorpion program is based on the French Ministry of Defense’s plan to create a new family of highly mobile light vehicles, capable of rapid response and deployment to various parts of the world, and of participating in both low and high intensity conflicts. This family is intended to not only consist of armored personnel carriers, but also of fire support vehicles, capable of dealing even with advanced enemy armor. The EBRC part of the Scorpion was intended to replace the aging ERC 90 Sagaie or AMX 10 RC wheeled fire support vehicles. Two vehicles participated in the contest with the loser being the SPHINX project by Panhard.

The initial framework plan was to have some 300 vehicles of this type operational by 2030. In the September of 2020, the French Army ordered the first 42 EBRC Jaguars. The first vehicles were apparently delivered between January and February of 2022 to a unit called 1er Régiment de Chasseurs d’Afrique (a cavalry unit of the French Army) for training, although the unit to reach the operational status with the Jaguar is the 1er Régiment Étranger de Cavalerie (1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment) of the Foreign Legion – it should happen next year, in 2023. This unit received their first Jaguars in the August of 2022. Following the success of the initial trials, the ordered amount was increased in May 2022 to 150 vehicles (to be delivered by 2025). And that’s pretty much the state of things right now – the Jaguars are expected to appear in service next year but some of them are already pretty much operational.

Eclipse Lore: The Jaguar SV is a simplified version of the EBRC Jaguar without some of its advanced systems, including many of the expensive systems. Being unable to develop a vehicle of this class on its own, the U.S. Army adopted the EBRC under the name Jaguar Scout Vehicle. Several dozen machines of this type were ordered from France but the production issues forced to company to transfer some of the stocks intended for the French military, causing significant compatibility issues with the American command and control systems.

As such, the systems of the Jaguar are largely not compatible with their U.S. counterparts. The combination of maintenance issues (the vehicle is generally metric-based while the military is running on imperial measurements) and the incompatibility led to the vehicle being wildly unpopular and generally not used unless absolutely necessary. This is one of the main reasons why the U.S. Army did not object loaning (and later on selling) several of these machines to Perihelion.

Vehicle Traits[ | ]

  • Harder to Spot: When moving slowly, this vehicle does not lose any camouflage and can effectively creep around.
  • Designate Target: This vehicle has the ability to designate targets that are within its line of sight. Designated targets are marked to other players and take increased damage.
  • Recon Package: This vehicle's set of advanced optics provides an improved vision range when stationary.
  • Complete Smoke Cover: This vehicle fires its smoke launchers in all directions to provide complete concealment.
  • Advanced Hydraulic Suspension: This vehicle's advanced hydraulic suspension allows you to tilt its hull to the front, to the rear and to each side for improved gun elevation and depression angles.
