==History== Class: Fire Support Vehicle
Developed: 1976-1978
Service: 1983+
Vehicles Built: cca 400
Operators: U.S. Navy, Venezuela, Tunisia, Thailand, Pakistan, Cameroon, Turkey The Dragoon is one of those unremarkable vehicles that pass through the history of armored warfare almost unnoticed. It was developed by an American company called Verne in the 1970s for a United States Army Military Police Corps program, which would then be canceled. Fortunately, Verne managed to convince the U.S. Navy to adopt a few pieces of this platform in 1983 and it just all went from there. Resembling Cadillac-Gage's V-150 Commando, the Dragoon platform was offered until as late as 2008 in various configurations, including a fire support one with a Cockerill turret and a 90mm gun. The Dragoon was widely exported and remains in service to this day in some parts of the world.
