Crew members perform specific duties within vehicles in Armored Warfare. There are four classes in total: Commander, Driver, Gunner, and Loader. Depending on the vehicle, the number of crew members can vary from as few as two up to five in total.
With the exception of the Commander, crew members cannot be moved around and are tied to the vehicle they were recruited for. All crew members start at Level 1 and can progress up to the maximum Level at 6 by earning Experience in combat. Non-Commander crew members can learn a new skill at Levels 2, 4, and 6. It is possible to boost a non-Commander crew member's Level instantly by paying Credits to Level 3 or by paying Gold to Levels 5 and 6. Some premium vehicles come with a trained Level 5 crew.
A non-Commander crew member can learn two skills at most. To reset a crew member's skills, the player can choose one of the three options: pay nothing at the cost of 30% of said crew member's experience pool, pay 10,000 to lose 15% of their experience pool, or pay 100 with no experience loss. Depending how much experience is lost, a retrained crew member may demote to a lower level.
In battle, each crew member has a set number of hitpoints and can take damage from enemy fire similar to modules. Crew become injured when their hitpoints are depleted, and unlike modules they cannot heal by themselves; they require the use of consumables such as Medical Kit or First Aid Cabinet to recover in most circumstances. If all crew members in a vehicle are knocked out, the vehicle is considered destroyed.

Commander[ | ]
The Commander is responsible for commanding the tank. In Armored Warfare, Commanders are a special type of crew member who progress differently than the rest of the crew, and every commander comes with their own skill field and specialty that can considerably affect a vehicle's performance in combat. They can also move from vehicle to vehicle or even be assigned to multiple vehicles.
When wounded in battle, all of a Commander's skills become unavailable, and the affected vehicle's vision range is reduced.
Driver[ | ]
The Driver is responsible for controlling vehicle movement. This crew member improves a vehicle's hull traverse speed and terrain resistance (which reduces the mobility penalty for difficult terrain) as their Level increases.
When a Driver becomes wounded, the affected vehicle's hull traverse, acceleration, and top speed are reduced.

- Field Repair: Track and wheel repair speed improved by 25%
Gunner[ | ]
The Gunner is responsible for firing the vehicle weapon systems. This class increases a vehicle's weapon aim speed as well as turret traverse speed as their Level increases. The aim speed, turret traverse speed, and accuracy of the vehicle are reduced if a Gunner becomes wounded.
In some vehicles, the Gunner also acts as the Loader, and can take crew skills from both the Gunner and Loader classes. On the other hand, there are also vehicles that have no gunner available as crew member.

- Accuracy: Accuracy decay rate while firing is improved by 23%
- Sting like a Bee: ATGM control improved by 15%
Loader[ | ]
The Loader is in charge of reloading a vehicle's ammunition. This crew member increases a vehicle's rate of fire as their Level increases, and if wounded in combat the affected vehicle's reloading speed and weapon switch time are reduced.
Vehicles with autoloader do not have a Loader. In some vehicles, the Gunner also acts as the Loader, and can take crew skills from both the Gunner and Loader classes. On the other hand, there are also vehicles that employs two Loaders, each with halved passive and skills bonus.
