Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]
Hull down ridge sniper. Excels in the sand/desert maps, or anywhere you can hide the hull. Use the excellent aiming time to quickly fire and duck behind cover to minimize time spent in the line of fire. The turret, while resilient to HEAT shells, still has large and obvious weak spots which will quickly be discovered and taken advantage of by opponents. Be especially sure to keep the front towards enemies as the side and rear armor are not very exceptional.
Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]
Pros[edit | edit source]
- Relatively reliable turret armor
- Strong upper glacis especially when hull down
- Accurate, quick aiming gun with a high rate of fire
- Very large HP pool, can be easily boosted to over 2000HP with retrofits
Cons[edit | edit source]
- Very large and weak lower glacis
- Obvious turret weak spots
- Turret does not feature the Chobham armor package and as such is easily penetrated by ATGMs
- No HEAT ammunition, lowest AP penetration out of all tier 5 MBTs
- Low mobility and maneuverability
- Very large and tall target
Suggested Research Order[edit | edit source]
Chieftain Mk6 is a premium vehicle so there's no research.
Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]
Chieftain Mk6 is a premium vehicle so there's no research.
Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]
The Chieftain can equip two armour retrofits which should be taken advantage of to boost its already large pool of health. The remaining firepower and universal retrofit slot should be spent on firepower upgrades.

Despite focusing on firepower first and defense second, the Chieftain's cast rolled plate steel armor takes up to a year to fully cool after production, offering all-around heavy defense. Combined with excellent sloping, it is highly resistant to the penetrators of its era, and it remains viable with its upgraded applique package. |

History[edit | edit source]
Developed by great Britain as a successor to the Centurion, this main battle tank was created as a response to the escalating power of the soviet anti-armor rounds. With production starting in the 1960s and ending int 1978, several hundred units were produced from the British and export markets. The Chieftain remained in service until 1995 and saw combat primarily in Western Asia. During its heyday, the vehicle was considered to be the world's most powerful tank until it was dethroned by the Leopard 2 during the 1980s.
