The Challenger 2 Streetfighter II Main Battle Tank is a one-off prototype, based on a 2019-2020 upgrade program for the British military, launched to improve the combat value of Britain's aging principal MBT. As its name suggests, it was developed with urban combat in mind, but also features additional long-range firepower in the form of a Brimstone ATGM launcher. The Brimstone is a ground version of the popular Hellfire missile. Another distinctive element of this upgrade is the massive frontal dozer blade for clearing obstacles in the streets. The tank has been also upgraded with the Elbit IronVision system, giving its crew full 360 degrees of situational awareness. Unfortunately, the program was canceled in 2021 along with the decision to phase out roughly one half of Britains Challenger 2 MBTs.
