The AMX-10RCR is the ultimate version of the French AMX-10RC light, wheeled fire support vehicle from the early 1980s. In the 1990s, it was decided to upgrade it with improved electronics, additional protection (including a rudimentary IR jammer with GALIX smoke grenade launchers), an early Battlefield Management System and other various configurations. The upgrade program was completed in 2010 and the AMX-10RCR (the last R stands for Rénové) is expected to serve until the late 2020s, at which point it will be replaced by the EBRC Jaguar AFV.
