The 2S1 Gvosdika is a tier 4 Self-Propelled Gun originating from the Soviet Union, and is sold by Zhang Feng. It can be unlocked from the M108, and leads to the M109.

Currently, all SPGs in the game are locked to PvE mode.

  • Self propelled guns: fire support vehicles for PvE missions.
  • High caliber: the high caliber weaponry deals an increased damage.
  • Smoke generators : generate a smoke screen around the vehicle.
  • Waterproof: this vehicle can remain longer under water.

Player Recommendations[]

As a self-propelled gun, the 2S1 is best used as a support vehicle for helping the team progress by removing heavily armored targets such as MBTs from the battle. Teamwork is needed for those both working with and playing an SPG. Teammates should be asked to call out targets if they are in trouble, and front-line vehicles should be supported in the battle.

  • Relatively quick reload for a low tier SPG
  • High accuracy

  • Poor splash damage
  • Shell travel time is long
  • Slow turret traverse

Upgrade Suggestions[]

The Improved Fire Control system is a basically mandatory initial upgrade that makes aiming much more responsive. Upgrading to the SW-680T Diesel Engine is a good next step to increase mobility between firing locations.

Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[]

  • Commander: Freja Hojbjerg, for improvements to aim speed and overall accuracy
  • Driver: Spin to Win, Off-Road Driving
  • Gunner: Sharpshooter, Quick Draw
  • Loader: Rapid Fire, Explosive Shells

The Gvozdika (Carnation) was developed in Kharkov as the means to provide Soviet units with mobile firepower, intended to destroy enemy manpower, artillery and fortifications. It is based on an extended variant of the MT-LB tractor chassis. The mass-production of the 2S1 Gvozdika ran from 1971 until 1991. The vehicle was also license-produced in Poland (from 1971) and Bulgaria (from 1979). With more than 10 thousand made, it was widely exported and participated in many major conflicts such as the Afghanistan war, the Iran-Iraq war, the civil war in Yugoslavia. It is currently being used in Syria and Ukraine, where a number of Gvozdika SPG’s were - successfully – deployed in direct fire roles as improvised tank killers.
